Fall 2021

Fundamentals of technical drafting, lettering, line weights, terminology, symbols, and formatting of construction documents will be explored. Students will create a comprehensive, semester-long project to be included in their portfolio.
Stair Section

For this assignment, I recreated a stair section by hand at 1/2 " scale on vellum.
Wall Detail
The goal for this assignment is to show the inner details of an exterior wall and to draw all the componenets and label them correctly.

Residential Project
This project is a full residential remodel. We have "clients," and must base our designs around their needs and wants for their home. This project has all the floor plan phases for an architectural project.
Original floor plan given in class.

Phase I: Demolition & Floor Plans
The demolition plan shows the changes I am making to the original floor plan. The dotted lines show where I am removing walls.

The floor plan shows the final dimensions and where everything is going. On this plan you are able to see where I added walls or changed things around, and also my furniture and layout recommendations.

Phase II: Reflected Ceiling Plan
The reflected ceiling plan shows where the lighting and ceiling details will be, and what fixtures we will be using. For example, you can see where I added wood beams to the plan. This also shows where the light switches will be and which lights are connected to which switches.

Phase III: Elevations
This phase of the residential project was the elevations. We were instructed to create the elevations of the kitchen and show fixtures, appliances, and details like the backsplash.

Phase IV: Sections & Details
The sections & details sheet shows exact dimensions and interior details of cabinets, shelving, and any other millwork or details that you have put in to your floor plan. It also highlights the materials used.

Phase V: Door & Window Schedules
This phase highlights the details of all the types of doors and windows in the floor plan. It shows the different types, different sizes, and overall dimensions and details.

Phase VI: Cover Sheet
The cover sheet goes before all your drawings. It gives all the client and designer information, as well as details about the drawings within the set.
